Due to movement within the department an opportunity has arisen leaving a vacancy for 1 part time Housekeeper within The State Hospital. You will provide a wide and varied range of domestic duties which shall include general cleaning of wards and departments, as well as maintaining a high level of cleanliness throughout the Hospital in line with the NHS Scotland Cleaning Services Specification to fulfil Health care Environmental Inspectorate Standards and meet the Facilities Monitoring Tool Targets.
“Responsibilities”
- Cleaning: Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and other general cleaning tasks
- Sanitizing: Disinfecting surfaces, equipment, and high-touch areas
- Making beds: Changing sheets, making beds, and distributing clean towels
- Stocking supplies: Refilling supplies, restocking linen closets, and keeping track of household supplies
- Organizing: Managing laundry, keeping track of groceries, and helping with setup and clean up for events
- Inspecting: Checking for damage and reporting maintenance issues
Other housekeeping responsibilities
- Washing and folding laundry
- Emptying trash bins
- Wiping and disinfecting floors, surfaces, and shared spaces
- Attending to guests’ requests for extra supplies
- Helping with setup and clean up for events
“Requirements”
Housekeepers typically need a high school diploma or equivalent, relevant experience, and strong organizational skills.
- Education High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience
- Previous experience in cleaning, maintenance, or related fields
- On-the-job training to learn specific cleaning methods and organization skills
