NETWORK OPERATOR JOB IN KARACHI, PAKISTAN

JOB DESCRIPTION: Managers in charge of networks are responsible for the organization, management, and smooth running of all aspects of network infrastructure. They manage the company’s data centers by hiring, training, and supervising a group of network engineers. These employ carefully thought-out plans to keep their teams performing as expected. Managers of network operations must also watch for infractions of business policy.

The Network Operations team is in charge of making sure the high-availability network infrastructure and its associated operational services are managed in accordance with the established SLAs. Collaboration with other IT groups such as Server Infrastructure, Application Management, Security, the Service Desk, Strategy & Architecture, and project delivery teams to achieve full buy-in and participation in introducing large-scale changes to the existing IT environment.

Responsibilities Of A Network Operator

  • Accountable for managing the Network Operations Team and providing 2nd and 3rd line support for all network-related issues.
  • A network operator sets up and owns applicable IT policies and standards in accordance with best practices;
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology, standards, rules, and directives;
  • Liaise with internal governance and the appropriate external authorities to ensure that we are progressing toward an authorized compliance infrastructure.
  • A network operator produces and maintains operations manuals/run books for this team’s linked services in accordance with corporate requirements.
  • Network operator identifies and pursues possibilities for continuous improvement in order to decrease operational risks, enhance efficiency, and raise standards.
  • Collaboration with Strategy and Architecture to guarantee that the infrastructure and related management tools are both supportable and maintainable.
  • Network operator handles operational risks, product roadmaps, and any corresponding remediation strategies in place.
  • With a rotating on-call schedule, escalation channels, and emergency response plans maintain efficient, round-the-clock plant operations as a network operator.
  • A network operator versus the upkeep of OT infrastructure inventory and makes sure that key spares are kept in good condition at all facilities.
  • Network operators efficiently assist in the settlement of cross-domain incidents and requests, making sure to effectively coordinate and collaborate with the IT ServiceDesk.
  • Develop automated OT infrastructure systems, workflows, and scripts and oversee their maintenance
  • Network Operator oversees, manages, and creates documentation for OT employees as well as end users.
  • To find and implement possibilities for continuous improvement, coordinate and collaborate with the rest of OT, IT, Engineering, and the company as a whole.

Qualifications Required?

  • Qualifications for a network operator job include a bachelor’s degree in a technology or engineering discipline plus five years of relevant work experience, a master’s degree in a related field, or ten years of relevant work experience in IT management or engineering.
  • Proven, in-depth technical expertise with networks, systems, and other forms of information technology (email, phones, word processors, etc)
  • A network operator is familiar with multiple of the following technological domains: Networking gear (Cisco recommended), server and desktop versions of Microsoft Windows, Linux, Microsoft SQL, Python, PowerShell, VBScript, and/or Ansible, enterprise storage hardware and software, VMWare (ESXi, center, and Horizon), enterprise backup software, enterprise monitoring software
  • A network operator is an expertise in IT service management (ITSM) best practices and related infrastructure (SNOW preferred)
  • A Network operator shows competence in managing and supervising others
  • Capability to think through problems and find solutions
  • Capacity for productive interaction with subordinates, superiors, and cross-functional teams
  • Have excellent communication abilities in all modes of expression
  • A network operator has the capacity to create and sustain effective teamwork.

Skills/ Experience Required?

  • A network operator must have previous experience working in a large-scale organization’s transitional multi-supplier setting
  • Should have the ability to use existing tool suites and propose best-of-breed solutions in technical solution design and development.
  • Expertise in using architectural concepts to ensure that infrastructure meets all requirements (including supportability, future-proofing, consolidation, standards, and strategy.
  • A network operator is a proven track record of working with vendors to enhance solution designs by providing constructive criticism.
  • Network operator shows effective communication and stakeholder management across all organizational levels.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; adaptable; willing to take the initiative; a positive team player.
  • Technical knowledge in a high-pressure, fast-paced service and technology setting.
  • Cisco CCNP certification is necessary for a network operator.
  • Design, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise CISCO networking infrastructure, including the following: Switching, Routing, DNS, DHCP, Firewalls, Wireless, Wifi, UCS, VOIP, Network Monitoring, Call Manager, ASA/PIX, MPLS, WAN Optimization, CoS, DWDM
  • Configuration and management of Solar winds as a network operator.
  • MCSE certified (preferred) as a network operator.
  • Experience working with major global communications providers and Cloud Platform knowledge.
  • Has to experience with network security and GDPR.
  • Diagnostics, troubleshooting, and event log/management as a network operator.
