What you’ll be doing —babysitting, childcare, nanny—is Yoopala! Become a babysitter with Yoopala and care for one or more children aged 0 to 12 in the parents’ home (before and after school, Wednesdays, occasional evenings, school holidays, weekends, etc.). Your main responsibilities will be to ensure the safety and actively participate in the learning and development of the children in your care.
Responsibilities
- Child Safety: Supervise children at all times to prevent accidents and hazards.
- Routine Management: Adhere to stipulated schedules for meals, naps, and curfews.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare and serve age-appropriate meals and snacks, adhering to specific dietary needs or allergy restrictions.
- Play and Engagement: Encourage healthy, cognitively stimulating individual and group play, including reading, crafts, and outdoor activities.
- Personal Care: Assist children with hygiene tasks such as bathing, dressing, and diaper changes.
- Light Housekeeping: Tidy up play areas, wash dishes used during the shift, and ensure the house is left in the condition it was found.
- Homework Help: Aid school-aged children with completing homework and reviewing school projects.
- Communication: Update guardians on the children’s daily activities and immediately report any issues or emergencies.
Requirements and Qualifications
Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and the ability to lift up to 35+ lbs.
Experience: Proven, successful experience in child care, typically with three or more verifiable references.
Certifications: Valid CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.
Driving: A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (with a clean driving record) may be required for shuttling children to activities.
Soft Skills: Patience, empathy, trustworthiness, and the ability to build a quick rapport with varying personality types.
