In La Bisbal del Penedès, a trailer driver is needed to manage the safe movement of trailers within the logistics facilities. The main task involves positioning vehicles at the loading and unloading docks, following established safety procedures. This role is key to maintaining operational efficiency and facilitating loading and unloading, in collaboration with the logistics teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Yard Shunting: Maneuver and position trailers into and out of specific loading bays, wash bays, and designated parking areas in tight, confined spaces.
- Coupling/Uncoupling: Safely attach and detach tractor units to and from various trailers, connecting brake lines, electrical cables, and securing landing gear.
- Over-the-Road (OTR) Driving: Transport goods over long distances, adhering to strict delivery schedules and federal/state regulations.
- Inspections: Conduct rigorous pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (e.g., brakes, lights, tires, fluid levels) and report any mechanical defects.
- Compliance: Follow all site traffic management rules, health & safety regulations, and maintain accurate logs of driving hours and trailer movements.
- Documentation: Verify shipping manifests, complete delivery paperwork, and operate trucking technology like Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) or GPS systems.
Responsibilities also include performing safety checks before each movement, visually inspecting vehicles and trailers, and completing operational documentation. The position requires a strong commitment to workplace safety, protecting people, equipment, and goods.
